There is a ton of room for variation within those categories, so if you're worried a specific format won't be a good fit for you it might be worth e-mailing the professor to ask what exactly they're planning.įor instance, I chose online - synchronous for my class, because 1) I want international students stuck in their home countries and immuno-compromised students to know they can safely take my class (hence choosing one of the fully online modes), and 2) I know many students learn best from getting together to work on class material at a set time and to have this option I needed to select synchronous.
